As part of the requirement of Investors in People (IIP) accreditation, Senior Personnel Management had a requirement to better understand the opinion and perceptions of staff within the workplace. A series of meetings were scheduled to formulate strategic personnel and policy framework areas to investigate and establish a benchmark of employee insight in order for on-going monitoring and evaluation of trend opinions to work in the workplace. Forming the first survey of its kind, a multi mode methodology was provided with the aim to encourage as many staff as possible to take part and respond. Paper and online self-completion surveys were designed, with some computers set up in spare meeting rooms for additional privacy. All responses were collected and managed by a third party to ensure anonymity. Results were instrumental to Personnel and Training Department service and Operational Plans evaluating staff views, opinions and satisfaction with the district authority work place.
